Many "sellers" of a product dream about owning the market place and being
able to charge anything he/she wants to without regard to real value. If
they could control the market place, most would do exactly that. Right or
wrong, the reaction to such predatory pricing is what we see here. Buyers
have several choices fortunately. They
can choose not to buy or to buy an alternative product. In such
circumstances, it isn't long before those competive
products appear. Legitimate or not. JD and other sellers have tried hard
to control their market but I know of no
examples that have prevailed in the long run. If the money or opportunity
is there, someone will fill it. Drugs and alchohol are just a couple
examples. I hate to have to say this but most buyers and sellers are
motivated by
what they can get by with - not what is right or wrong. This same rule
applies to most of the rest of our society
and business as well.

Whether or not JD can win this issue depends on how much demand there is for
these products at their prices
versus demand for lower prices. Many buyers will pay the price regardless
of what it is. Most will not and will
buy for a cheaper price without asking about the source.
