Couple of quick facts about bio-diesel:

By the way, creating biodiesel, either at home or in a factory, yields NO
by-products that the EPA wouldn't put on their grass in front of their
offices in Washington.  It yields glycerine(used in soaps), mono, di, and
tri-glycerides (the ones used in bread to prevent spoilage), soap and
water.  The process does use methanol, an alcohol, which must be handled
carefully and vented during handling obviously.

When I started looking into this in 2002, I found that most most folks, as
with most topics, talk without understanding or knowing a thing. I heard a
lot of nay-sayers and proponents say whatever came to mind, damn be the
facts.  So forget everything you have been told about bio-diesel and read
these academic articles and decide for yourself:

Interesting trivia relevant to tractors:  Rudolph Diesel actually designed
his engine be a vegetable oil burning engine.  His world wide demonstration
at the 1900 World's Fair used peanut oil.
