Exposure to agents that are mutagens or carcinogens act to increase the
likelyhood that one will develop the disease. Just like tobacco, not
everyone exposed wil develp the disease. If the perceived risk by the
individual is too great then exposure should be avoided. If one does not
care about the risk involved then one proceeds but there is a risk of the
rare occurance upon a single exposure. Certainly repeated exposures
increase risk. Some individuals have the ability to metabolize and excete
these agents more efficiently than others, concommitant risk factors such
smoking also increase risk of disease occurance.

Inform yourself about the risk and decide if the potential benefit outweighs
limiting or eliminating exposure.
