[AT] Case 480E (OT ?)

I know Mike and others have mentioned 480s on the list, and now I need some 
help deciding "yes or no" about putting out some (to me ) big bucks.
My friend has a 480E he'd like to sell which has a full cab, bucket, and hoe, 
2000 total hours and looks very clean.
It was used on the OO's private property and stored inside, and was purchased 
by my friend from the OO's estate .
My friend used it a bit, and fixed things such as lights, door (pexi) glass, 
and door seals.
It is missing the engine compartment side panels which the OO took off (and 
died without telling where he put them) because "all of his other equipment ran 
better without them", but aside from them, is all complete.
The rear tires look so-so, maybe 40% tread.
It has a diesel engine (in case had gas), heater, no A/C.
The pictures look very attractive (but I don't know how to post them).
Here are questions: $8500 ????; How much does it weigh?; any shortcomings 
typical of the breed?
