[Farmall] F-12 won't die

Greetings!

Thanks to all who pointed me in the right direction to obtain plugs and
wires for my '35 F-12.  After replacing plugs, wires, points and figuring
out the impulse coupler wasn't engaging, the tractor started on the second
crank!

However, I still have a couple of minor issues.  The impulse couple seems to
hang up and not engage reliably, even though I couldn't see any reason for
it.  Cleaned and lubed the pivot points, anything else I might be missing?

Also, to kill the engine, I have to move the timing lever all the way
counter-clockwise and put it into third gear.  The mag is timed by putting
#1 cylinder at TDC, then turning the mag until the impulse trips... is this
correct?
