[AT] O/T Meyers or Western plow

I used to be a Meyers man all the way. We have had Meyers plows since
1976. They are built about 30 miles from me. About 8 years ago I was
talked into the Western Unimount plow, I did it with the understanding
if I didn't like it, I could trade at no cost to me for a Meyers. I
will never go back to Meyers. The Western has faster hydraulics. It can
use ATF instead of the high dollar hydraulic oil you are suppose to use
in the Meyers. I have had far less problems with my Western than with
Myers. All I have had to do to my Western is replace the electric motor
this year. That cost $78 and had one hose break. With the Meyers, it
seemed like I was either replacing solenoids, coils, or having to have
the pump adjusted for the hydraulic settings. Like I said, I was always
a Meyers man and I had to be talked into the Western, I won't go back
now. Now I wouldn't use the older cable operated Western, but the newer
solenoid controlled pumps are the way to go.

Subject: [AT] O/T Meyers or Western plow

  Howdy all;
Need some mad money for this ole iron addiction. Bought me a fairly
nice
'69 Toyota Landcruiser and now need a snow plow and then we'll go to
work.
Meyers and Western are probably the most popular here in the NW.

Anyone got any pro's and con's on either?

Sorry for the off topic post, but dern it, I want it all!!

TIA
RickinMt.
