[AT] warm day in Sask.

Sunday the sun came out and at last the infernal wind stopped blowing. The
temp was way up there near +5 early in the morning. I could tell it was
getting even warmer as I shovelled snow to get into the quonset where the
Cockshutt 40 and snow blower awaited. With the snow drifts we have
accumulated over the past couple of days I figured it was time for a test
drive.
I'd have to say that for a while that tractor ran better than it has in
years. I could plow through snow so deep that it flowed over top of the
blower. No hesitation as the governor opened up and the snow kept flying.
I was nearly finished after a couple of hours work when the engine started
showing signs of cutting out and running rough again. Just when I was
thinking I had it beat. On checking I found that the load needle on the carb
is so loose that it must have turned itself in and leaned out the mixture.
Parked it inside and started a much needed oil change. On walking through
the yard I was surprised to find the locking pin from the pto quick coupler
laying in the snow where I had been clearing. What luck. It could have ended
up blown away into deep snow. Even better, I found the spring from inside
the pin laying on the hitch of the tractor. Now I just have to figure out
how it all goes back together.
