Phil, I'm pretty sure I saw an ad for one of these  video transfer machines
that would transfer the VHS tape contents onto a CD. Can't recall the price
but I guess it would depend on how much tape a person had to transfer in
making the decision to buy. I just hoped that maybe the newer more powerful
computers might be able to do it on their own. But somebody else told me
that it would take a huge capacity on a computer's hard drive to transfer
video. After hearing how unstable VHS recordings can become as time goes by
I am a little concerned that I might eventually lose all the history I have
recorded.
