If you don't get a CD, see if there is a provision to make a recovery
diskette, that is, if you have a diskette drive.  I've had 2 XP systems that
had what sounds like the same problem.  All they needed was to run SCANDISK
on C:, then they were fine.  The problem is that you need something to BOOT
to be able to run SCANDISK.
