Gary it sounds like you are heating the bolt  instead of the piece it is in. 
This just tightens the bolt up and makes it  harder to get out. Next time heat 
around the bolt so as to expand the metal  around it spread your heat way out 
from the bolt. To the edge if possible.   You will have better luck in the 
future.
