[Farmall] nuisance

Much of this here in Kern County (pardon if this is a repeat...I posted this 
before but I think it only went to Karl) is the result of urban/big city 
sprawl. Several new upscale housing developments are going in in the once 
beutifull and wide open hills outside Bakersfield (the county seat). There are 
a few rural communities and farms scattered about and a race track...minding 
their own business at a nice country pace....

Now the big city types (of which I used to be and now can't stand that type of 
life style) are moving in with their speeding Es-ewe-vee's, complaining about 
the smells of nature, that noisy race track and oh heavens a few old cars in a 
few long time residents back yards (or front yards....but who, that's been 
there awhile, cares) are creating a blight and will *gasp* lower property 
values......E'scuse me? All these fancy houses do nothing but drive property 
values up and increase the tax base so folks that have lived there all their 
lives can no longer afford to!

Anyway, a few of these newcomers complained to the County and now an ordinance 
is getting passed.

And, the race track owner decided to sell the track and land around it because 
it was just to much hassle to continue on with such obnoxious neighbors in 
their fancy houses...and he got a ton of money from a developer. I hope 
something gets built there that makes the whiners wish that noisy old race 
track wasn't so bad.
