Yes, that is the way my 340 PTO works also - pulling it to the rear
engages the PTO (as it does on my 560). There were, however, two
different PTO mechanisms offered on the 340, according to the Operator's
manual (that I don't happen to have in front of me at the moment). It
may be that the operating lever works differently, depending on which
version you have. I have a town government meeting this morning, but
will dig up the manual later today and respond in more detail.
