I've been in pursuit of a John Deere model D on steel for quite a while. I'm
not necessarily a John Deere fan, however watching them in tractor pulls
impressed me.
I am currently awaiting the delivery of two of them, one mainly all there
except fenders, and the other is for parts, nothing left forward of the
crankcase. Both are 1928 vintage.
They both are rough, but the 1929 AA Truck I swapped isn't much either.
Here's what they look like.

Yesterday I found a 1929 not 2 miles from my house as the crow flies!
Unbelievable. There is a lot of development around here and especially in
that area. Evidently the developer got tired of trying to move it so it got
shoved sideways until they broke the left side front axle and left it
sandwiched between two buildings. It cannot be seen except through the back
entrances of the stores.
I know the person who owned that land and am going to see him tomorrow with
crossed fingers............
