Studebakers - was Re: [AT] auction

A quick note that I have to interject. Studebaker Champion Engines of that
era like most high speed flatheads needed rebuilding every 100K miles or
thereabouts. The rings were soft and traveled a LONG distance. The bearings
rarely wore out and with a rebuild every 85-100K miles, they will literally
run forever. There are people whose Champion 6's have run over 800,000 miles
and are still going....
Disclaimer is that I own Studebakers and have run over 400,000 miles on
them.... Also, that a Studebaker V8 will go much further before a rebuild -
I speak from experience. Studebakers are fantastic trucks and cars.
