[AJD] R Stuck in Fifth Gear

Kevin,

When I posted my message, it was 9:00pm CTD. When I went to bed @ 10:30, my
message hadn't made it to the list. Just now checking mail again after work.

Are you saying that you had to remove the "tin" between the intrument panel
and the floor of the platform? Probably not such a big job except for 50+
years of rust on those bolts. Better get another can of PB Blaster. Was
removing the housing much of a job? Didn't look too bad except for unhooking
all the controls that attach to it. Just glad that I didn't get ambitious
and put the hood back on after playing with the pony.

Seems like my son is a magnet for breakdowns. Not reckless. Just has good or
not so good timing, however you want to look at it. I can use a piece of
equipment for months on end with no problem. Five minutes after he gets
ahold of it, something goes wrong. He thinks he is jinxed. Sometimes, I
wonder.

Will tear into the R this evening and see what I can see.

Thanks,

Duane
