I have had good luck over the years with Rocky boots, but some of the
guys who hunt a lot swear by La Crosse. I had a pair of La Crosse boots,
and they fell apart. I have been buying steel toe boots and Vibram
"yellow plug" soles, rather than the softer, lighter boots - they are
not quite as comfortable, but you only need one heavy object to fall on
your toes or step on one nail to appreciate the value of a tougher shell
around you foot.
