Mark, Mike, ect. Everyone that replied, there's never been a harder to
start tractor than this one I have, been through the glow plugs. And just
had to replace 1. Most of the time in order to use it I have to pull it
200-300` Once its running it runs good, oil pressure stays right at 60 psi
and temp 180- 190 depending on what its doing. So reason I am looking for a
gas engine is startability year-round.
Now the P/S> I bought another bolster Smith Tractor, Mayfield, KY 2 year
ago when the P/S ball guide went out, it lasted abt 50 hours. That one was
cheap $150.00
The next one came from Anderson Tractor Bluffton, OH
$270.00 Took it apart put the W/F back on it at same time. Now I have not
only the meanest starting but also the meanest steering tractor in Lyon
County.
I hope this explains why I am attempting to find manual steering, so I can
use it. As judging by the way it steers it wont be long for im looking for
more high priced wore out steering parts. And them bolsters are HEAVY,
shipping is like paying twice. We count on it and need to use it whenever
it wont cooperate I end up using somthing too small for the job. Cobbled ?
Its borrowing a combines engine right now, the fella that I bought it off
of broke the first engine. By heating up the glow plugs real good then
throwing the ether to the intake attempting to start a cold motor. Any leads
on manual steering and or useable - rebuildable gas engine would be nice.
