>From what best I could figure out from the listing is this was a JD 50 High
Clearance (NOT HIGH CROP as listed). A high clearance JD 50 would have 12.4
x 42" rears, dished cast rear centers, extra long axles and axle housings
and a 16" single front wheel. W/O knowing the casting numbers that are
actually on the tractor I cannot guarantee it is fully equipped. JD did not
make a High Crop 50. JD maintained configuration records for only a year or
so on the early 50's and then abandoned that due to the standard convertible
front end. This 50 appears to have power steering which would identify it as
a later 50 after JD quit keeping the detailed configuration records. So my
guess is this tractor may be a High Clearance tractor but there won't be any
JD manufacturing records to prove it.

My major objection to the eBay description is using "High Crop" in the
title. No such animal.

The guy that bought my Massey Harris Tractors was the buyer
here(lansingriverrat). This buyer has 100-200 tractors, is buying at a
feverish pace and keeps most of them out in the rain. I have that directly
from the mouth of a good friend of his that does most all if his
tractor-picking-up. Only a small percentage have covered storage. I was
under the impression from the few emails I got and from his friend that he
knew quite a bit about tractors but apparently not. The tractor is close
to where he lives though so that may have something to do with his bid.

What are those skinny wheels and tires anyways????
