Hi Robert! I'm a long ways from being a pro welder, but I do a lot of
"farmer" welding (not pretty sometimes but never a failed weld). I've used
a friend's welding helmet that had a regular shade lens in addition to a
magnifying lens. I didn't like it at all. I just wear my $1.00 reading
glasses under the helmet and see good. What really helps is a 500 watt
halogen work light overhead. John
