Hey guys, the Ford wrenches with the Ford name in script is for the
automobiles and not the tractors. Not that some of them may fit the bolt/nut
in question. The "gas gauge" wrench for are talking about is NOT for
measuring the gas in the tank. Only a very lucky operator would poke a steel
wrench into a steel tank and I'm sure all of you can figure out why. The
wrench that has the measurements on the side are for measuring the depth of
the furrow made when plowing and is for properly setting up the 3 point
plow. These wrenches were made by the Harry Ferguson Co. for Ford. I have
two of these wrenches and one is still in the condition as it came out of
the drop forge with the flashing not removed. If anyone would like to see a
photo of such I will send you one off line.
I recall that the tool boxes for the Ford tractors are under the hood just
in from of the battery. So are probably just a steel box about 4" x 9" or
so. Regards, John Grant

I have seen lots of ads for tool boxes that fit 8Ns, but I have never
seen one pictured, either in the 9N/2N parts manual or in catalogs, for
the earlier tractor. Nor have I seen one of those wrenches. Can you point
me in the right direction?

Over the years, I picked up a handful of black wrenches with the Ford
script cast into them, but I suspect they came out of automobile tool
boxes, as none of them have any kind of inch markings on them. That would
be a neat addition to my tractor. (once I get the old sleeves out and the
new ones in...)

 Mike,
That 2n is supposed to have a wrench marked in inches on one side in the
toolbox. That is what Henry's folks came up with for a gas gauge.
