[AT] Arc Welding ?

I've been hearing that thing about the contacts for years.  Don't know  if 
it is true.  I would suspect that if  true it is not from just welding but 
from having a welding eye burn while wearing contacts.
Supposedly it burns the cornea at the edge of the lens.  Don't know?
