Jeff:

I think John has appropriately answered your tire question. However, I can
help on the trailer width maximum. It is 102" nationwide. I have a 102" wide
trailer and have been cross country with it several times. No problems at
all.

Subject: [AT] NC Trailer regulations

Hello All,

I have an old equipment trailer. It has mobile home axles and tires. I
have been told that the tires are no longer legal to use. Where can I
find information to confirm or deny this? I have been to the dot and dmv
websites. I am also interested in other requirements. This trailer is
102 inches wide. Is this legal ? A friend said they can't be over 96".

Thanks for your help in advance.
