the mag out as opposed to the switch which was mounted on the throttle

I have a 1940 model B serial #FAB16531. It is one of the early
non-electrical models without the cast in hole in the bell housing for a
starter motor. It is my understanding that the model A and model B tractors
shared the same numbering sequence starting at 501.

It has the serial number plate under the driver's seat and it has the
magneto shorting cable with the switch on the magneto. My hood is held on
with the special Dzus 1/4 turn fasteners, too.

Can anyone tell me the date this tractor was made? It seems to have several
features of the 39 model, but the serial number is in the 1940 model year.
