[AT] Farmall 350/300

If its going to Wisconsin someone must have really wanted it bad. I hope
they know a lot of the original hardware is gone; still in my garage. It
was converted over to be a good work tractor and a lot of the original gear
was swapped out for modern more reliable and easily serviceable parts, ie,
all spin on fuel and oil filters. I should have sold this guy the one I
sold at Wolgemuths at Thanksgiving. 100% original and in excellent
condition with IH widefront. I worked on it all last summer to get it ready
for the guy who sold this one and then after it was ready he backed out and
bought a 450, the same week I was supposed to deliver it(I think that one
for sale now too). I'm holding a FH plow for the same guy for 6 months now
but he said he can't come up with the money, but he tells me to please hold
it 'cause he still wants it, although he's now looking at 806's. Sorry for
the rant but this guy just drives me crazy!!!!

Anyway, back to your original question about 350's. They are fairly common
it our neck of the woods, but not as common as H's of course. Diesels are
more rare but I've owned three different ones in the last 5 years so they
are around. I still have 350D Utility and a 350D Hi-Utility neither of
which run very goodat the present time. They are prone to hard starting and
can be very expensive to fix if you have a problem. It's easy to drop $1000
on an injection pump rebuild and injectors are expensive too. If everything
is tuned up correctly they can be nice tractors to work with. Another
problem I came across is trying to keep the fuel system sealed up. They leak
a lot and have many places to leak from; this was the main eason for the
spin on fuel filters on the 350D on YT Mag.

As far as the TA's, I think there have been some good explanations so far.
They aren't all that expensive anymore if you can do the install yourself.
I think a rebuilt TA can be had for about $500 from places like Leamans
Tractor in WillowStreet, PA (or maybe your local IH Dealer - Eckroth's)but
the labor will run about $1000 for the install. I just had one put in one
of my SMTAD's and I think the total bill was around $1500.
