Ralph with my D-14 in 3rd gear, high range, Wide open, I can max out at
about 2.5 acres per hour in light to moderate brush with a 5 foot brush
cutter.  And that is being very careful about overlap.  It would rate at
about 1 hp per acre as you suggest.  A 6' cutter would help.  It's on my
wish list.
