[AT] Reagan Remembered (by Patti Davis) Off topic but greatreading

George,

Based upon my last post, some of this is redundant. But I can assure
you, I did not take an easy course!, and I don't know many of my
colleagues that have. Before I began my career, I earned two college
degrees and studied my butt off to get them. I was an agricultural
education major, and when I graduated I could have taken a job in
industry making more money and having an easier life doing it, but I
chose to teach because I got hooked during my student teaching
experience and I thought maybe I could become good at it. I am sure
that some teachers think they are better than everyone else, but I am
not one of them. Most are people that are trying to make a living,
raise their family, play with an old tractor or two, etc 8^)

My dad once told me that a man can choose in life to work with his back,
or his brain. There is, however, honor in both. And there are times I
come home from school and am just as tired as if I had dug a ditch by
hand all day.

Again, anyone thinking teaching is easy, go visit some schools and find
out for yourself.

Al

Teachers are people... nothing more, and nothing less. The problem
seems to
be that many seem to look down their noses at those who are merely
taxpayers
who support their soft life style. Admitting that they took the easy
course
and subjected themselves to less physical stress for a less demanding
job
would go a long way. Why do they all seem to try to maintain a superior
position?
