Maybe not much more, but you DO need to know how to teach it so all your  
kids can learn - including those who might learn differently.

I'm assuming you don't have kids in school nowadays.  Teachers  wear more 
hats than ever, especially in the younger grades.  It's like a  three ring circus 
daily, and then some with all the services provided and  documentation 
required.  Class sizes are larger, "extras" are less and  less.  
 
By your reasoning special education teachers should be paid less than their  
regular education counterparts, yet special ed teachers are regularly hired  
at a greater starting salary.
