[Farmall] 240U question

I think that Jim's reply says it all - IH pushed the 240U as a general 
utility machine for government road and parks departments. I believe the 
machine eventually evolved into the 2444 and 2424, which could be 
equipped with loaders, power steering, etc. So basically, you could 
order a 240U "your way", based on what the purchasing department thought 
they needed (not the usual "one size fits all" approach that was 
traditional). At least that is what I think, for what it is worth. :-)
