Hans:

As far as I know the only place to purchase these custom JD CDRoms legally
with JD Copyrighted information on them is get them from your local JD
Dealer or by calling JD publications. Unfortunately the lowest cost
publication on CD is $30 ea. or higher depending on which document you need
so you are probably looking at a total cost well over $100 maybe even $200.

The other alternative is to find paper originals or copies on eBay or so but
to gather up all you need will take a while and may not be less expensive.
There are companies who sell reproduction paper copies of JD manuals but I
cannot recommend them.

Another alternative would be to find an original JD CD ROM DB1293 which has
all the Parts Catalogs for the two cylinders on one CDRom. However, one of
those sold on eBay recently for something like $265 or so.

You do have one advantage in that if you use your tractors for work, then
these costs will be considered a business expense and therefore reduce your
taxable income. That only helps if the business is profitable.
