Larry,
The new the new blades look  identical to the old ones except that they are 
sharpened on both sides. These of  mulching blades on my Craftsman lawn tractor 
with a 42 in. cut and 19 HP Brigs  twin. I haven't noticed any difference in 
the mowing since I got them. You  sometimes just have to keep up with the new 
stuff to see how it works.   
Remember they laughed at a lot the old pioneers in industry when they  came 
out with the things that we take for granite now.
