Cecil, I agree that the big underground rocks do give a nasty jolt to the
rototiller.
My brother got a Kubota 18 hp diesel this spring. Not sure but I believe its
a 48 inch rototiller on the back too. It creeps along pretty slow in 4 wd
but you sure know it when the tiller blades hit a rock. I stood by with the
crow bar and was able to dig a few out after the rototiller located them.
The tractor could use a little weight on the front when the tiller is lifted
though. That 3 cylinder diesel is sure a smooth running engine.
