A lot of common animals "think" on a lot of different levels and a lot of "experts" think on almost none...

While I can't be certain I suspect that they are right in saying that humans are the only animal that
knows from early in their lives that they will die someday. Others may know instinctivly that death is coming and
react accordingly but do not "contemplate death (or maybe they do and just don't want to talk about it). :-)
