Carl-

Dry Ice

I had mentioned this method before, and since then have used it on two horse trails and a garden with 100% success.

Just a chunk the size of a cantelope at each entrance will do it, unless it is very windy.

The solid CO2 sublimates into its gaseous form, and since CO2 is heavier than air, it displaces the oxygen inthe burrow and they suffocate.

And since most of their burrows are under ground level, even if you don't locate all of the entrances, the burrow will still fill up with gas and do the job.

Gasoline works the same way (fumes are heavier than air ), but the smell, ground contamination and possible combustion danger is not usually worth it.

Same goes for propane.
