Welcome Troy jump in anytime.

Sounds like you have a nice operation.

I didn't know that the Lottery fell under the heading of Organic. 8<) You
could probably afford to continue farming for a while if you win a lottery.
Just remember that you have to buy a ticket.

Subject: [AT] Greetings

Greetings,
I have returned! My name is Troy Bogdan, and I have been away from ATIS for
some time now, but wanted to let you know that I am back as a subscriber. I
hope to hear from many old familiar names, and hope to meet lots of new ones
also.

I have two antique tractors. A 1953 John Deere 70, and a 1945 Farmall A.

Sorry for any cross postings (I already re-introduced myself to the Deere
and Farmall lists). Now I am saying hello to everybody.

For those of you who don't remember me, and for those who've forgotten, I am
an organic farmer from Western Pennsylvania. You may have seen my picture
in Spencer Yost's book, "The Antique Tractor Bible." I was fortunate enough
to be included in that fine piece of literature. My tractor and farm made
it into several photos in the book. Since that book was published, we
changed locations of our farm. We were formerly on 30 acres in the
Pittsburgh area, and now we have 85 acres in the Erie region, near
Meadville, PA.

Our main crops are certified organic garlic, veggies, herbs, fruits, hay,
wild-crafted forest products, lumber and christmas trees. We also hope to
be getting into "entertainment farming" in the near future.

We aren't just collectors of antique tractors and equipment, we actually use
them for the work that they were intended. Our tractors get a daily workout
during the growing season (and spend a lot of time in the shop because of
it). We are constantly performing maintenance and fixing things. One of
these days I hope to put up a good work shop, because I sure could use one.
I just need to win the lottery, and I will be all set.

Well, that's about it for now. I hope to chat with you soon about old iron.

Thanks very much. Sincerely & Organically Yours,
Troy Bogdan, Pure Earth Organic Farm, North-West Pennsylvania
