[AT] Wire size for welder?? Help welder people!

I think the "electrician" who in an earlier post recommended using a 50 amp 
breaker on #8 wire was irresponsible.  The breaker should NEVER UNDER ANY 
CIRCUMSTANCES be larger than the safe capacity of the wire it protects.  Ask 
your insurance company.
