[AT] OT- Digital Cameras/Thanks

Mike, my Sony Mavica FD 75 is likely obsolete by now but thought I'd put in
my two cents worth concerning a few things I have learned.
First thing I would do different is try the camera outdoors before buying
it. I found this Sony was fine indoors but in the sunlight I have a terrible
time seeing the LCD screen. Ideally a camera should have both the LCD screen
and a regular viewfinder and if I ever buy another camera that is a feature
I will look for. Ageing eyes could be a factor here too.
What I do like is my 10x optical zoom. I see so many newer cameras only
offering 3x zoom and though I have not tried one out I think I would miss my
10x. It has been so handy for long range shots.
I'd also have to say that overall I am not satisfied with the picture
quality. At less than 1 mp it's picture is ok but well below the quality
that I was used to seeing on my old 35 mm film camera.
