[AJD] Cleaning Tractor Tires

Most of the tire dressings contain crap that damages the rubber, that
brown "stuff" you see is a result of the coating leeching the oils out
of the rubber. About the only thing I have ever seen that works is 303
protectant. It doesn't cause the rubber to deteriorate and makes them
darker.
Personally I use nothing on any of the tires on any items I show. I just
wipe the tires off with warm soapy water and let them dry. One good way
to get them good a black in the winter is to take them out and run
around in the snow.
