        <div>I have a little 2-stroke dirt bike experience but most of
          it was decades ago.  When we had a piston seize (iron liners,
          unlike these new hard-plated cylinders) there was scoring
          everywhere, cylinder and piston alike, and rings would
          actually break sometimes -  and then, boy, you really had to
          bore oversize (if you were lucky).  I guess these modern
          engines built with different techniques are going to provide a
          different set of clues.  I'm still surprised to see no scoring
          on the piston and the original machining marks still obvious.</div>

        <div>I'd almost be inclined to clean everything up very
          thoroughly, reassemble, and see what happens.  Check ring end
          gap in the cylinder as you go along, and maybe put in just a
          set of rings if they are out of spec.  However - I'm not
          recommending this because you said it was difficult to
          disassemble.  Your time is valuable.   </div>

            Here's a shot of the piston and the retaining pin, not
            really sure how to get the pin out since the retaining clip
            appears to be a washer not a cir clip. I can order a new
            cylinder, piston, pin, washers and and gaskets for about
            $40, a lot cheaper than a new blower. Thanks for any advice
            anyone can offer.<br>

                            mistake. She claims I told her to use that
                            fuel, when I know I did not. <br>
                            I used it today and it will run for about 5
                            minutes and then sputter out<br>
                            and die, like it's running out of gas. It
                            will restart, but then the<br>
                            same scenario starts all over again. Is
                            their any chance of saving this<br>
                            engine? Maybe a higher oil/gas ratio? Thanks
                            in advance.<br>
