You obviously know what your problem is, Spencer, but you reminded me of another water well pressure switch problem I've seen. The issue was extremely delayed cut-in on pressure drop. You'd be in the shower, and water pressure would diminish slowly, all the way down to a trickle, then, it would come back up. The problem was that the well was sandy, and over time, sand plugged up the pressure switch port. It wasn't a dead clog, but close enough that it would trap pressure in the switch, so the system would drop and the switch was still happy. Not being a dead clog, slowly but surely the pressure switch would finally get the message.and kick the pump on.

SO

On Tue, Dec 7, 2021 at 11:58 AM Spencer Yost <spencer@rdfarms.com> wrote:

I have the exact opposite problem (but probably same root cause) with my water well pressure switch. Every once in a blue moon it will fail to cut the pump on when the pressure drops below it’s rated psi. All I have to do is cut the power, run a little emery cloth over the points, and then all is well for another long while.
PS: Cut the power first!
I'm going to check a few things that you folks have asked about and see if any are contributing such as low compressor oil, plugged intake filter or a leaking outlet line and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestions.
