Bo: I always stuck to that teaching. Even though in the early
days the loader manufacturers would supply a couple of rolls of
teflon tape with a new loader. Wealways used paste, or the stick
which was a lot easier to use. I used a lot of Rectorseal in the
day. Here lately I bought a lot of fittings from Discount Hyd
hose.com, ant the fittings would leak no matter how much teflon
paste or type of paste, or tight I got the fitting. I even used
an impact wrench and a vise to tighten the fittings on the hose..
So, I got to using the tape and stopped having leaks. A good
friend worked 10 years for a large Farm Eq dealer and he told me
thay had to start using teflon tape on all NPT fittings.
