Hi Dean:

I've never used the Harbor Freight device you're looking at, but I've used
a couple others. Not mine, not recently. One hooked to a laptop, the
other to a smartphone. I would consider something like that instead.
The HF unit has tiny 2.7" screen with 320x240 resolution. I just spent 30
seconds on Amazon dot com and already found one for $36 that has WiFi and
1920x1080 resolution.

I don't know about the one you are looking at but I did buy a cheap scope
for 9.95 It plugged into a usb port on laptop. Had to download a
program which took awhile to figure out but once I got it working it worked
really well. Better then the Snap On the neighbor has. Only
problem is I don't know the brand or where I put it.

When I get the manifold off of the head, I’m going to
first try to verify that there isn’t a blown gasket between the exhaust and
intake side of the manifold. That may be difficult due to damage to the
gasket when separating the two. However, assuming it is a hole
in the manifold I sure would like to see and know where it is. Just
out of pure curiosity. And to make sure it is the manifold not the head
itself. So… since my curiosity is so high, I am thinking about
purchasing the 2.7” Color Digital Inspection camera that Harbor Freight has
on sale for $59.99. Could be c considered an extravagant purchase although
there have been previous times when I had the need for one.
Would be really nice for looking inside engine combustion chambers before
pulling heads along with a few more practical uses. And since
I’m only going to live once…. But have any ATIS members had experience
with this particular inspection camera? And what has been your
experience with inspection camera’s in general? Would hate to buy a
useless toy.
