Millions of acres of scrub and dry grass that hasn’t seen rain in months. Millions of dead trees, dry, sappy pines, that have died from bark beetles. Hardly lumber grade. There ain’t no raking or managing of most of it. And yes, the majority is federal. But that really is moot. They do a lot of controlled burns in my county but there are more than enough acres to catch fire and spread easily to tens of thousands of acres.
