have been on the group probably close to 25 years, I don't
remember how<br>
long. The server was hosted at the University at the time.
There were kind<br>
of two factions as I remember the antique engine group and the
tractor guys.<br>
Wife and I took a trip across the country in 1999 in our
motorhome a 1970<br>
Dodge Travco and I put out feelers for assistance in case we
needed it,<br>
fortunately we had no issues I couldn't fix along the way. But
I sure<br>
appreciated the knowledge that help was available if needed. <br>
I have learned a lot just sitting in the shadows. Many
members have passed<br>
over the years. I remember the box that was passed across the
country. I<br>
remember a few years of the auction of the Blue Handled Fence
Pliers and<br>
being passed around. I remember the charity auctions. I
purchased a<br>
Minneapolis Moline UB tractor on propane on an charity auction
and a member<br>
trucked it to California and John brought it to Portland
Oregon for me. I<br>
borrowed a truck and trailer from a friend and drove from
Whidbey Island to<br>
Portland, Oregon to transfer from John's trailer to mine to
bring it home.<br>
I still have the tractor and it runs. <br>
I remember some feuds and disagreements, some in jest and some
not so.<br>
Disputes about Magnet paints, Evil Dave killing Maytags,
Someone who got<br>
kicked off the list and trying to rejoin as different person
but couldn't<br>
keep his fingers off the keyboard and couldn't disguise his
opinions. <br>
<br>
I appreciate Spencer and him keeping the list going providing
the servers<br>
necessary and the costs associated with it. Some of the past
members and the<br>
beautiful work they did on some of their creations. I
appreciate the work<br>
done by members done for the Portland Indiana show in the name
of ATIS even<br>
though I have never been to it.<br>
<br>
I remember some of the swag of the early years I still have a
pin on one of<br>
my hats. <br>
<br>
It has been a very entertaining time and I thank all of you.

How has this group changed in that time?<br>

remember that trip being followed on here. <br>

Cecil Bearden AT list member, Oklahoma farmer, and
Professional Engineer<br>
(<a href="mailto:crbearden@copper.net" target="_blank"
moz-do-not-send="true">crbearden@copper.net</a>); I drove a
fire truck from New Jersey to OKlahoma<br>
about 15 years ago. It had plugs all over the door frames and
cab and<br>
fender dead spots where they had pumped a product called
Ziebart to prevent<br>
rust. It seems to have worked. The only rust spot is where
my boot heel<br>
set on the bare floor board after I had been in and out of the
truck and on<br>
the pavement. We were in one of the worst snowstorms in PA in
20 years...<br>
