   I would like to thank all of you for your responses to my question about bench testing of coils. Your answers sure helped me to decide what to do about the issue. At a price of $20 for a new coil with internal resistor, I do not feel like it is any real problem, particularly when it seems quite impossible to be certain whether a coil is good or bad.
