Steve, if I understand you correctly, you’re looking for 38 inch rims that will mate to your cast wheels. I think the 36 inch rims used a different wheel than the 38’s. For reference, my B cast wheels are 34 inches diameter; I’m expecting yours will be 32 inches diameter. So you need matching wheels and rims.
If you have the same styled B parts book as I do, PC0330 March 1960 page 99 shows a single cast wheel AA3816R for all styled B’s, with reference to an AB1810R wheel containing a B1545R cast piece, discontinued. Below with the rims AB1452R is the 36 inch rim for the B1545R wheel.
There are 4 different 38 inch rims, different widths.
So I think you need to pick up a parts B with cast wheels and good rims, or find someone parting one out. Got one selling here on Sunday, www.gragesonlineauctions.com<http://www.gragesonlineauctions.com> look at item 30. A better tractor than you need, but at least the tires are up. I can buy it if you want, haul it home, and you can pick it up from my place at your convenience. SE Minnesota, Pine Island. I buy and sell on this auction most sales.
Alternatively, is the 36 inch configuration rare enough to be worth trying to preserve on your tractor? Maybe at least you could sell your wheels and rims to somebody.

Bill, thanks for that. What I mostly want to know is what RIMS fit them and provide 38" tires.
May be, I don't need to know what the books say, but it would be a reference I can use in looking at sources.

Steve:
That?s indeed an elusive number, but I found it in a couple of ads where folks are selling the B2189R clamp: ?Used with B2185R or AA3816R cast center and 12 spline hub: B2188R.? Somewhere around here I have an earlier MPI that has a lot of these abandoned part numbers, but I?m not finding the catalog at the moment. Will keep an eye out for it and let you know if I learn anything more. If I find it, it probably will just refer to the Model B but won?t tell us much more than that. Have you checked Duane Larson?s archived presentation on wheels?
Parts B?s of that vintage go pretty cheap around here. Find one with good or salvageable wheels and rims?
