Cecil,

I've been on eBay using PayPal since PayPal started. Way before EBay bought them.  So I didn't remember exactly what info I gave them to sign up but... I suspect I use PayPal several times a month not only for eBay transactions but other commercial transactions and often private transactions between individuals(PayPal Friends and Family)  usually buying antique tractor parts.  I have my account set up to charge my credit card automatically when I buy something so I get another 30 days of float and the normal protections that a Credit Card purchase offers.  For Friends and family transactions to avoid the Seller PayPal fees one has to have that paid directly out oi the checking account.  At one time I had a separate checking account set up for ebay/PayPal but my bank started charging me for that account even though I had a more than adequate balance in an another  account.   So I just abandoned that.  That was probably over 10 years ago.  I don't know how big a risk I'm taking but it is so handy I'm not sure I could do without it.  YMMV. 

PS: Another thing I like about it is the funds transfer is almost instant. Rather than having a seller wait a few days for payment before shipping it is there in seconds so my purchase gets shipped quicker.   Or as a seller I get my funds faster.
