Different safety standards for sure. Saw things in the printing industry on late 60s and early 70s.  I'm collage I worked in the largest print shop in the southwest. We printed all the telephone books in the south west.
I graduated and worked nights and holidays for friends  there for two years after I earned my EE degree. Those years was when we learned about PPE and such.
