Snow Snakes!

They spend all winter sneaking around and doing things like unplugging 
cords or peeing on a switch so it freezes down.

Snow snakes also carry extension cords away from the last place they 
were used, or if you are organized, they remove them from the proper 
storage location and leave them laying about....somewhere. Same goes for 
3-way adapters and electrical timers.

They have also been reported to have chewed cords in two, but I think 
that was really the rabbits just pointing fingers.

Sometimes the chickens get spooked and fly up into hanging heat lamps. I 
suspect snow snakes but the chickens won't talk about it.
