Mike, as one with some experience with this kind of idea, I’d suggest the $500 pail of grease from McMaster would be a bargain by comparison.

Try baking armatures in the oven sometime…

That's a good idea Bill, do you think my wife would have a problem with me using the kitchen blender to do that? LOL

I have a 60’s vintage Snapper LGT with mower. It calls for 00 grease in the transmission. Guessing from what was in the case already, I took gun grease and mixed in a little motor oil to get about the right consistency. Has been running fine for years with that mixture.

Yikes, I did a quick McMaster-Carr search, and a 5 gal. pail of Mobil is $500.00
Get the kitty litter.

Does anyone have a source for 00 corn head grease? I have an old Troy
Bilt Horse that is leaking through the axle seals that I've already
replaced once. I've looked at TSC and Rural King, and can't find any.
When I ask, all the employees look at me like a deer in the headlights.
I've looked on-line and what I can find is $25 a quart. At that point
I'll park it above a tray of kitty littler and keep it full.
Thank-you,
Mike M
