$500 just to bore it seems way out of line, just another way of saying we
don't want to do it.  Cheaper to find another good block.  I have a
Sunnen hone that you can crank out putting real pressure on the cylinder.
 I cleaned up a 2 hp Hercules at .060" and made a new piston out of a
chunk of aluminum, didn't take that long and worked perfectly using
automotive rings.  Also find a hydraulic shop and have them hone it
either clean or to your size.  Have piston metal sprayed and turn to fit
and order custom rings.  Also a lot of people have used JB Weld to fill
pits and gouges, hone clean works well.
